College Raptor reports that, out of all the financial aid options available, grants and scholarships make up 57 percent of the monies used to help individuals fund their college education. Furthermore, while an overwhelming majority of these monies are provided by the federal government (40 percent), state government (8 percent), and individual colleges and universities (39 percent), an additional 13 percent are funded by private sources.

Sadly, almost a quarter of the respondents reported that the financial stress was “extreme.”
